I’ve spent over 30 years in recruitment, the last 22 of which have been creating and building The ONE Group. I won’t pretend every one of those years has been easy, but watching it grow into a business that genuinely changes people’s working lives, both the people we place and the people who work for us, is an extremely humbling experience.
My passion in business is to constantly be driving forwards and to be the best at what we do. I’m not interested in standing still, and I don’t think our people are either. As a business owner, what matters most to me is creating an environment that is collaborative and supportive, but also competitive — somewhere everyone has a genuine opportunity to succeed, push themselves and be recognised for it.
That balance, between looking after each other and pushing each other to be better, is what I think sets a great recruitment business apart from an average one. And understanding the uniqueness of people. We are a people business through and through, and the human element drives everything about how The ONE Group operates. It is what I want every person in the business to feel, whether they joined last week or have been here for years.
